Even at a young age, I always had a love for photography, taking cameras that were given to me, and “maximizing” the camera’s potential with my own creativity. I ventured into the Printing Industry after school and started my career in the “film and ‘pre-press’ portion” of the printing world. Working with film for many years seemed to go along naturally with my early love for photography. Digital cameras came into being and as I considered them substandard quality, had no desire to buy into them until their quality came to a higher level. I “took a break” from my photography passion and let the digital world catch up to me. By now, digital camera’s are becoming “awesome”, and I decided to fuel that passion once again and after buying my first DSLR got to be known by everyone as having my camera with me everywhere I went. I soon felt that I was outgrowing that first Canon camera and decided even though I didn’t think I could afford it at the time, I purchased my first “full frame” Canon – the renowned Canon 5D Mark III. That camera and my passion driven successes with it has led me to where I am today, breaking into that Professional category. Though my work has centered around a love for landscape and fine art photography, having 4 wonderful and very beautiful grandchildren (and two more on the way), its become a natural progression to venture into portrait work also.
As my passion for this wonderful fulfilling photographic trek continues, it has me up early mornings and out late nights shooting the mass beauty all around us and all within what seems to be a two hour or less drive. This year alone, within less than those two hour drives, I’ve captured the Aurora Borealis with friends on the shores of Lake Ontario, and also the Milky Way in the deep dark skies along the Finger Lakes. I have met many fabulous photographers both local here in WNY and also in the Rochester/Webster area where my daughter lives. I thank them for their presence in my life as I’ve learned much from and with them while out shooting and celebrating the beauty this fabulous geographical area has to offer. I will continue helping others to see and witness this beautiful area we live in, by shooting and sharing one beautiful image after another.
